 Brief summary of duties of Sidesmen

 1.      Please try to arrive at church at least 30 minutes before the 10.30 am service

                                      and 15 minutes before the 8 am Service.

2.      Check which books are to be used.

3.      Welcome worshipers and give out books

4.      Take the collection and bring it to the Communion Table. At Holy Communion count the

         congregation and advise the Rector of the total for Communion.

5.      Count the collection after the service completing the appropriate slip.

         Do not open envelopes just count the number and enter on the sheet.

6       When it is Communion at 10.30am.

                  a) Control the flow of people coming to receive Communion

                  b) One should be at the chancel step to offer “help” as people go up and down this step

7.      Clear up the books and put them away.

8       Count the number of people attending and advise the PCC  Secretary
